TEST OF ENGLISH FOR INTERNATIONAL COMMUNICATION
Students enrolled in a European Bachelor's degree, European Master's degree or European Doctorate's degree must take the TOEIC® exam (language test English in the form of a MCQ) at some point of their studies. They need to obtain the minimum score required for each Degree (B2 level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages), granting them at least 12 Ects credits. Students will get 1.5 extra Ects credit every 100 points above the pass limit.
The TOEIC® is a standard and internationally approved assessment test that indicates a candidate's level in business English and makes it easier for him to apply for international jobs. The TOEFL® checks academic skills whereas the TOEIC® assesses one's practice of English in a professional and international environment.
The TOEIC® is not an exam but a language assessment test. An average high school student should get about 600 points at the end of his secondary education. There are other assessment tests such as TOEFL®, IELTS, etc. Eabhes requires TOEIC® because the test focuses on communication and calls for technical vocabulary necessary in professional tasks.
It is left to the appreciation of each school to decide when the students will sit the test, however European Bachelor's degree, European Master's degree or European Doctorate's degree will only be delivered upon passing the test.
If a candidate fails to get the minimum required score, he can re-sit the test as many times as necessary. TOEIC® sessions take place all year round.
Special classes can be organised in every school and classes can be taught in the institution or in a partner school.
